Holi in Mathura: Holi festivities begin on the streets of Barsana from Monday
Sunday (March 17) witnessed the vibrant festivities of Holi kicking off in Braj. This, along with the traditional observance of Holashtak, marked the official beginning of the joyous occasion. At the revered Shri Ladliji temple, the atmosphere was imbued with vibrant colours as devotees joyously celebrated with the scattering of colourful gulal, accompanied by the sweet indulgence of laddus specially prepared for the occasion. As the celebratory spirit continues to engulf the region, anticipation builds for the upcoming Lathmar Holi festivities set to take place in the lively streets of Barsana on Monday.
An atmosphere brimming with exuberance and fervour can also be seen at the Shri Ladliji Temple in Barsana. witnessed a spirited celebration of Laddumar Holi, drawing in a multitude of devotees from near and far who immersed themselves in the joyous occasion. The temple complex buzzed with activity as members of the Nandgaon and Barsana Goswami communities came together to partake in communal singing, adding an enchanting musical element to the festivities. With vibrant colours and festive spirit filling the air, all eyes are now set on the vibrant streets of Barsana, eagerly awaiting the spectacle of Lathmar Holi set to unfold on Monday.
Meanwhile, at the Dwarkadhish temple, a scene of jubilance unfolded as Rajadhiraj and his queen joined in the festivities, delighting devotees by personally sprinkling them with colours using a graceful silver sprinkler. This enchanting ritual is set to continue every morning until March 25th, offering devotees the opportunity to partake in the colourful spectacle during the Rajbhog darshan from 10 am to 11 am. Furthermore, the excitement is palpable for March 20th, when Thakurji is slated to join in the Holi festivities while seated in Kunj, adding an extra layer of anticipation and reverence to the celebrations.
Also, the Radhavallabh Temple, steeped in nearly 400 years of tradition, is set to commemorate its revered Holi celebration on the auspicious occasion of Rangbharani Ekadashi, scheduled for March 20th. This cherished event marks a significant moment in the temple’s calendar as Priya-Priyatam, adorned with the divine markings of Radhakrishna, embarks on a ceremonial journey from the majestic Rasmandal to Athakhambha. Seated gracefully in a carriage, the divine duo of Radha Krishna, accompanied by their entourage of friends, will traverse the charming streets of the city, extending warm invitations to the denizens of Braj to partake in the forthcoming Holi festivities. Following this enchanting procession, the vibrant hues of Holi will come alive in the temples of Vrindavan, igniting the spirit of joy and camaraderie among devotees and revellers alike.
