Arik Air resumes flights to key Nigerian cities

Arik Air has announced the resumption of flight operations to key cities across the country.

Effective Thursday, October 17, 2024, Arik Air will recommence its Lagos-Asaba route, serving the capital of Delta State. This route will operate four times weekly on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from Murtala Muhammed Airport Domestic Terminal 1 (GAT), Ikeja, Lagos.

In a statement, the airline says, it is also reintroducing flight connections from Abuja to Benin City on October 4 and from Abuja to Port Harcourt on October 10.

The Abuja-Port Harcourt route will operate daily, while the Abuja-Benin route will be available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

To further enhance its presence in the market, the airline has increased frequencies on the Lagos-Benin and Lagos-Warri routes to daily flights.

The reintroduction of these routes is part of the airline’s strategy to reconnect key destinations that were previously suspended due to operational reasons.

Commenting on the development, Arik Air’s Chief Executive Officer, Captain Roy Ilegbodu, stated, “We are delighted to extend our services once again to the people of Asaba and surrounding areas who have been eagerly awaiting our return. We are committed to providing our customers on all routes with the high operational standards that Arik Air is renowned for.”
