UAE residents can now get an e-visa for Morocco
Always wanted to go to Morocco?
Well, it just got easier to get a visa.
On Monday March 4, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Abu Dhabi announced e-visas for residents of the UAE.
Before you start packing though, you need to know this. You need a valid Emirates ID with a minimum of 180 days of residency to be eligible for the new e-visa.
Other documents you will need when applying include:
- Copy of your UAE residence visa. The visa must be valid for more than 180 days.
- Passport copy. The passport must be valid for more than 90 days.
- Passport-sized photograph.
The e-visa is valid for 180 days, for a single entry and a stay of 30 days.
The standard e-visa costs Dhs280.64 and takes three business days to be processed.
If you choose to fast-track the paperwork, it’ll cost you Dhs401 and it will be processed in one business day.
UAE nationals don’t need a visa to enter Morocco and can stay in the country for 90 days without one.
While visa requirements vary by passport, you can get a visa on arrival in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia if you are a resident of the UAE. And now, that benefit extends to getting an e-visa for Morocco.
The North African nation features regularly on travel bucket lists and it’s not hard to see why. It’s got something for everyone; whether you like culture or shopping, hiking or relaxing at a hammam.
Head to Marrakesh, for example, to check out the medina, a walled area dating back to the Berber Empire, or to see the souqs which sell everything from jewellery to handicrafts.
